Kirin Tor. Magus Senate in our old tongue. For centuries, the city of Dalaran has served as a beacon for the magical minded and the innately curious. From all walks of life gather the men and women of the Kirin Tor. Alone, we were separate and without purpose. Together we stood to create a shining beacon of a state. A city whose might rivals that of the greatest human nations. The Kirin Tor was created to catalog every spell, curse and incantation known to Azeroth and beyond. All who gathered within Dalaran came for peace and prosperity and to sate the hunger for knowledge that is inherent to all sentient beings. All under the ever watchful Violet Eye.

The Story

After the fall of Dalaran, the Magus Senate endured—but changed. What had once been the heart of magical governance reconstituted itself as an order of magi devoted to study and preservation rather than rule. In time, Ministries gave way to Rings and Circles, and the Senate’s defining spirit of magical politics faded into memory. Now, by vote of its surviving members, the Kirin Tor, without a city, has resolved to reclaim its original purpose: to govern the remaining Outlying Territories under Dalaran’s domain, and to lay the foundations for the day when the violet spires rise once more against the skies.

Who We Are

For over a decade, the Magus Senate of Dalaran has stood as one of Moon Guard's most enduring magocratic orders. Founded in 2012, the Senate embodies Kirin Tor roleplay, serving as the lawful government of the Dalaranian Magocracy and the custodian of its surviving colonies, ministries, and laws. Our story does not begin with the fall of Dalaran—it continues from it. The Senate endures, governing what remains of the realm and striving toward its restoration. The Magus Senate is not a guild of mages alone, but a functioning state-in-exile—a coalition of scholars, soldiers, diplomats, and citizens bound by loyalty to Dalaran and the pursuit of arcane order.Members may serve as:

  • Senators, crafting policy and law.

  • Scholars, Arcanists, and Researchers, preserving and advancing magical knowledge.

  • Battlemagi, Spellblades, Guardians, and Scouts, safeguarding Senate holdings and expeditions.

  • Diplomats and Envoys, representing Dalaran’s interests abroad.

  • Artisans, Engineers, Healers, and Scribes, maintaining the infrastructure of the Magocracy.

Ministries

The Ministry of Academics upholds the Kirin Tor’s timeless pursuit of knowledge—preserving, expanding, and teaching the arcane arts within the illustrious halls of Ambermill Academy. Roleplay within this Ministry centers on lectures, field expeditions, archaeological studies, and all endeavors dedicated to the understanding and advancement of magic itself. The Ministry of Security stands as the first and last line of defense for the Realm of Dalaran. Its magi safeguard not only their own borders but, when needed, the wider world from external threats. Roleplay here often involves D20 combat operations, espionage, and the development of new military-arcane technologies. The Ministry of the Interior oversees the well-being and order of Dalaran’s people. It manages domestic reconstruction, internal security, and civic affairs across the Outlying Territories. Roleplay opportunities range from everyday interactions to D20 investigations and crisis response. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs serves as Dalaran’s voice beyond its borders. Its envoys and ambassadors negotiate treaties, maintain alliances, and shape the Magocracy’s place in the wider world.
